Clackamas Bible Church's Married Couple's Retreat 2009

10/24/09

Twin Rocks at Rockaway Beach. I love the Oregon coast!

10/23/09

Eric and I went on a couples retreat with a group from our church. My friend Donna was showing me some fabric that she thought I'd like. It's not the greatest pic, but it's my only option for the day because it was so busy!

10/22/09

We went on a leaf walk on Thursday. It was perfect weather for it and there were leaves everywhere! This pic was taken in our church parking lot, which is lined with the most beautiful trees!

10/21/09

We had dinner with the neighbors tonight. They provided the meat, which I cooked all day in the crock pot, and I made the mashed potatoes and gravy. We forgot the veggies... oops...

10/20/09

Every night Eric reads a bible story to the boys. It's one of the cutest things! They all sit around him on the bed and intently listen.

10/19/09

Taylor was laying on the floor watching a movie. He's just so cute!

10/18/09

Poor Daniel was sick on Sunday and we spent all day watching kid movies in the living room. We administered sips of water (per the nurses advice) with a medicine cup and took his temp often. Thankfully he felt better by the next day.

10/17/09

Another shot from the retreat facility we used for the LWCC Women's Retreat. So beautiful!

10/16/09

I've said it before, fall is my favorite time of year! This week the leaves started to change. We were waiting to pick someone up, and I got out of the car and snapped some of the trees around the parking lot. I love the colors!

10/15/09

I got this apple cinnamon scone mix when we were in Parkdale. I decided to make them up for breakfast one morning and I was seriously disappointed. They look pretty good, but it wasn't anywhere near worth the price I paid for these scones!

10/14/09

We ran all day on Wednesday. Daniel carried his "Mach 5" with him all day and ended up using it as a pillow in the car!

10/13/09

Today I got to meet Christopher Kimball. He's the creator of America's Test Kitchen, a cooking show on PBS. I love his show and the cookbooks are some of the best I own. I was thrilled to get to meet him and get my cookbooks autographed.

10/12/09

Since we came home from the orchard with boxes of apples, I tried my hand at making applesauce. It was wonderful, and it made the whole house smell divine!

10/11/09

Sunday was also a lazy day. As I got up off the couch in the evening, I went outside to find something to shoot. This is my neighbor's tree, and I noticed the sun shinning on it nicely. I love fall!

10/10/09

I did nothing on Saturday, and it was glorious! I did manage to snap a few photos though. This is Daniel showing me his cool safari hat.

10/9/09

My Great Auntie Mary owns an orchard up in Parkdale Oregon. Since we're doing a unit on Fall this month and apples are harvested in the fall I thought it would be a good thing to go visit Auntie Mary and see her orchard. The boys loved picking the apples and running around in the trees. This is the tree in her front yard, and she told me it's one of the original trees in the orchard!

10/8/09

This is what happens when I've had a rough day and have no more creativity in me to try and find something good to take a pic of. Today you get a pic of my messy desk! Sorry!

10/7/09

It was a beautiful day today and I took the boys outside to distract them until Eric woke up. (He's working graveyard and sleeping during the day.) We had a little photo shoot around the yard. I don't really know what they thought was so funny, but I love how their personalities have been captured here!

10/6/09

Ethan got a magnifying glass in his kids meal and we were having fun making things look big! This has got to be one of my most favorite pics all year!

10/5/09

Here's an action shot! Ethan was using his rope as a whip and I snapped the camera at the perfect moment!

10/4/09

I made chicken soup and homemade buttermilk biscuits for lunch today. It was the perfect day for soup! I love the fall! Oh and yes, that's my homemade strawberry freezer jam on those biscuits!

10/3/09

It rained today and the boys begged to go outside and play in the puddles. We just took down the swimming pool so there's a nice big muddy spot in our yard that they enjoyed making a mess out of!

10/2/09

We decided to have a girls movie night. Since all of our men don't appreciate watching wonderful chick flicks like Pride and Prejudice, we watched it with out them! We had so much fun together laughing, knitting, eating and enjoying Mr. Darcy! *sigh*

10/1/09

I'm part of a knitting/crocheting group from my church that call ourselves The Knot Club. These ladies are fabulous! We span a wide age range and we have all skill levels. We meet once a month and I look forward to our sessions with great anticipation! It's so much fun to share what you've made or are making and have someone really appreciate the work you've put into it!

9/30/09

I started another puzzle today. It's 750 pieces and they're all the same color... I think I might need medical attention... I'm pretty sure I'm crazy for even attempting this puzzle. It's really hard! I'll post a pic of it the day I finish... if I ever finish!

9/29/09

This is me and Daniel playing with the camera. We took a ton of really stupid pics that night, but this one was pretty cute.

9/28/09

We were at the mall wandering around waiting for Eric to be done getting his chair massage. I decided to step into See's and get some chocolate for us all. I bought a bar for the boys to share. Taylor got the last piece and was showing me that the wrapper was empty.
