For Eric's birthday I bought him a new cycling jacket. It's waterproof and extremely visible! Now he'll be warm, dry and seen! This is the first time he's been able to wear it.

Saturday was my husband, Eric's birthday. We hiked Multnomah Falls with our sons then had a lovely dinner alone together on the Willamette River at the Newport Seafood Grill. I took this while on the hike. It's the first hint that fall is here! Fall is my favorite time of year!

I think I've mentioned before that I'm part of a group called The Ebenezers. An Ebenezer is a marker that reminds us that "thus far the lord has helped us" (1 Samuel 7:12). We meet once a month and challenge one another to memorize scripture. We meet at the food court at the mall. After we have dinner together, we recite the passage/verse we've worked on for the month. These are some of my fellow Ebenezers.

On Thursday I watched my nephew, Owen. He's just so cute I couldn't help but take a whole bunch of pics of him!

This is "Bean Dog". He has been a part of our family for seven years. I got him as a baby shower gift before my oldest son was born. Originally he was black and white, but he's obviously been very loved. Bean is named after my parent's Boston Terrier, Bean. (Cuz he's a Boston Bean dog! Har, har!) He's very beloved among my children. He goes everywhere with us. We've lost him several times, but he's always turned up.

It's been a long time since I've taken black and white pics. I was playing around with the b&w setting and this was the best pic I took. I actually really like it!

Unfortunately, I had to take Ethan to the doctor today because he was complaining of ear pain and he had a fever. After running around all morning taking everyone else to church, then to the doc and the pharmacy, we were all pretty tired. We had a relaxing afternoon where everyone took a nap. Then we went to the laundrymat to do our laundry cuz our dryer is broken. When we got back, it was bath time then bed time. What I'm trying to say is that in all the commotion of the day, I forgot to take my camera out! I don't have a picture for Sunday! Oops!

I had some peaches that were getting a little too ripe, so I made peach cobbler. Are you hungry yet? It was fabulous!

Daniel didn't want to put his towel (blankie) down while he was going potty, so this was his solution! He just draped it over his head while he did his business. I thought it was so cute!

We went to the circus today! I'd never been before and it was fantastic! All the acts were wonderful, but my favorite had to be the elephants. There were 11 of them and they did all kinds of tricks. We were only five rows back so I couldn't zoom out far enough to get them all. I'm not complaining though!

School time! The boys have enjoyed their new table for doing their school work at. It works out really well for us!

One of Taylor's favorite things to do is sit with his Daddy! It seems like every time Eric sits down somewhere, Taylor is there in a flash to sit with him.

We got a new table and chairs for our school/playroom. The boys were so excited to help me put them together. They each took turns turning the wrench. Daniel was so consentrated on what he was doing, but he wouldn't let go of his air plane!

I rooted some new african violet cuttings I got. They are finally ready to be in dirt. They look sort of pathetic now, but in no time they'll be beautiful!

The kids played outside nearly the whole time we were there. They loved the big swing they could all sit on at once!

My friend Jacki invited me and the kids to go with her and her kids to Pine Hollow for the weekend since our husbands were backpacking together. We went for a walk when we got there, and the kids ran ahead of us. I think they were sick of being in the car!

One of the new things I got for school this year. My neighbor is a teacher with out a teaching job right now, so she loaned me a lot of her stuff. I love this calander! The boys enjoy sticking the new day on and picking the weather every day!

Part of our school today was M&M Math. We had charts and everything. The boys thought that was the best school project we've done cuz after you count and graph all your M&M's, you get to eat them all!

On Tuesday I made a roast in the crock pot for dinner. I also fixed my 1,000 calorie mashed potatoes and green beans. I think this pic explains it perfectly... the best bite ever!

Labor day is our annual Bailey Family Reunion. We all meet in the Dalles at Sorosis Park that overlooks the city. Before we head up to the park, we stop in town at our favorite coffee shop, Holstein's Cofffe Co. They serve the BEST mexican smoothies I've ever had! Generally we stop both before and after the reunion because they're just so good! My family members are probably the only ones that will truly enjoy this pic!

I didn't actually take many pics on Saturday. This was just before bed. The kids are pretty cute just before bed. I don't know if it's just that I'm excited to see them go to bed or what, but I always think they're cute before bed!

I made artichoke dip for game night. I couldn't get the lid of the artichoke heart jar open though. I tried, Stephanie tried and each of the guys tried. Finally after not being able to get it open, the guys decided to work together. It still didn't work... We did get it open eventually, but it took a lot of banging and twisting!

My neighbor and I have a tradition of going out for what we call "Thursday Night Treats". On the third we went to the movie store and rented Idiocracy, then to the grocery store where we filled up on a ton of junk! It was a fantastic evening which resulted in stomach aches!

I have faught with my zuchinni all summer. They barely gave us any fruit and they're already dying! I have however gotten plenty of great pics from them!

September first! Yea! Only a few more months to go. Today we went to the dump to get rid of some junk. The kids were very bored while we waited in the van.
