We got a fire pit from a friend, and tonight was the first time we got to use it. I set up the tikki torches so the bugs didn't get us. Ethan was the first one sitting there enjoying the fire and asking for his marshmallow stick!

We got a pretty good deal on artichokes at Costco today so that's what we had for dinner. They looked so pretty and yummy sitting there cooling off so we could eat them.

Tuesday was a beautiful day. It was the perfect summer evening for a nice walk. We walked to the kid's favorite park and played for a bit before walking back home. I love Daniel's expression in this pic!

So after we made a huge mess of the yard, we needed to clean it up. Since I was the only one home on Monday I had the boys come out and help me cut up some of the smaller brush and pile it so it could be loaded and hauled off. This one was too big though... The boys were calling it a forest!

On Sunday we went for another bike ride but this time we went with our neighbors. When we got back we decided to attack our back yard and take out some of the bushes we'd been meaning to get rid of for a long time. It was a big job! The guys actually got out the axes to chop off some of the huge juniper branches. This is Derek, taking a much deserved break!

My cousin, Marin, had her 4th birthday party today. We went bowling in the morning and ended the day at the pool! My nieces came with us to the pool. They all wanted in the hot tub, so I made them line up on the steps and smile for me.

I made caramel corn for game night this week. It's a huge hit! We usually polish off an entire bowl! Daniel is helping us along the way!

This is the only pic I took on Thursday. I watched all my sister's kids so her and her husband could go out to dinner for his birthday. This is some of the kids eating their dinner. It's not a good pic, but it's my only choice for today!

My Dad works for an envelope manufacturer and every once in a while he'll give us the end of the rolls of paper they use. I think they just recycle them. The boys love coloring on huge pieces of paper! Ethan is probably drawing the MAX train or something.

My sister and I took all our kids to the splash pad at Willamette Park on Tuesday. They had a fantastic time playing in the water. I'm not sure what Daniel is doing here, but I love the expression on his face!

We went for a bike ride today with the boys. We rode the normal path from Oaks Bottom all the way to Downtown Portland. We stopped on the east side esplenade to take a break. I love this pic of Ethan!

We went to my cousin's daughter's birthday party today. She turned five-years-old! It was a fun party for everyone, especially the birthday girl.

This is my gelato. A scoop of watermelon, and a scoop of raspberry. It's the reason I'm willing to ride my bike so far! Not a very good pic, but I assure you, it was really good gelato!

Tonight was a girls night. I went out to dinner and a movie with my friends, Trisha, Stephanie and Yvonne. Dinner was yummy and the movie was good. The company was fantastic though and I can't wait to do it again!

AH, the rain is back in Oregon! YEA! You can see from this pic that I'm raising a bunch of proper Oregonians. Shorts, raincoats and rainboots! They insisted on going outside to play in the rain. Even though they had refused to play outside before it started to rain.

We met some friends at the park today. Taylor climbed all the way to the top of the chain ladder and said, "Look how tall I am Mama!" Very cute!

Back in the spring, Daniel planted this sunflower in a tiny pot from seed. It's now twice as tall as him. I believe it's even taller than me! He's so proud of it, and he checks it's size everyday!

All week the kids have been attending VBS at another church. We went to the parent's night on Friday. I didn't realize my battery was almost dead until after I took this pic. Unfortunately it's one of only two I took that day. Oh well.

The kids were making a horrible racket in their bedroom and I was getting ready to tell them to stop what ever it was they were doing when I walked in on this scene. Ethan is playing the keyboard, Daniel is using the buckets as drums and Taylor is looking for the recorder! I didn't have the heart to tell them to stop after that!

I had a dentist appointment this afternoon, and had forgotten about it. As a result I didn't have time to get a sitter, so I took the kids along with plenty to occupy them while I was getting my teeth worked on. They did so well! This pic was taken while I was sitting in the chair.

Another warm day here and Ethan was sunning himself on the "lawn" or what's left of it. He was wearing these strange glasses and I thought he looked so serious.

This is my nephew, Owen. I have a pic on my blog of his feet the day he was born. He's grown so much since then, and he's so cute you want to eat him up! (In my totally unbaised opinion.) He was eating biter biscuts and totally loving them.

I just got a new pattern with some nice yarn. It's a scarf, which is a little strange to be knitting in triple diget weather, but it's so cool! This pattern creates a reversable cable scarf. So it's the same on both sides. I can't wait until the winter so I can wear it!

Every Friday I meet with a friend for coffee. I usually have to take the kids with me, so I try and bring things that will entertain them while we visit. Today it was puzzles.

Since it's been so hot, the boys have been sleeping in just undies. This was taken first thing in the morning. I don't remember what they were looking at, but I thought it was funny that they were all standing there in their skivies! Looks like Daniel has an itch...

It's been UBER hot here in P-town this week. The kids have spent most of their time in the pool. Taylor is "paddling" around the little pool!
