11/30/09

Ah! The last day of November! Even though I missed a couple days this month, I'm glad I made it through! Now on to December... My husband brought home flowers for me today. I woke up to roses on the counter! They're beautiful!

11/29/09

My friend Susan made an advent calander with match boxes. The result being that she had a TON of matches in plastic baggies. She asked if I wanted some... I said, "Why not?"

11/28/09

I was out shopping and had to buy some of these chocolate covered cherries. I love them and get them every year around Christmas.

11/27/09

There's always another gathering the day after Thanksgiving to eat turkey soup. My dad had made this giant loaf of bread. I thought it was so funny that he had to cut it so many different ways to make it small enough to handle.

11/26/09

Thanksgiving Day! I brought the mashed taters to the gathering. As we put them on the table my brother took a toothpick and drew a "pilgrim" in them. You can't see it very well, but it's just too funny not to post!

11/25/09

TURKEY BOWL!!!! Every year on the day before Thanksgiving, there is a flag football game between the Milwaukie High School band students and the band alumni. It's always fun and the alumni always creame the students!

11/24/09

That's right... I was browsing the "Black Friday" ads... not that I'm very proud of it.

11/23/09

Ethan got Legos for his birthday. I made him wait until his daddy woke up before he broke into them. All the boys were so excited to build the things! I thought they were all so cute huddled together discussing the construction of the vehicle!

11/22/09

My big boy is 7 years old today! Makes me sad, but proud to see the wonderful boy he's become!

11/21/09

One of the things Ethan got for his birthday was money from his Nana Debbie to go to Powell's Books. He chose to go with me alone late at night. We had lots of fun looking at all the books! Here he is trying to decide what to buy with his birthday money.

11/20/09

My sister-in-law and father-in-law came to visit us over the weekend. The boys loved hanging out with them! Ethan had so much fun with his Auntie Stephanie. Especially since she let him play with her phone!

11/19/09

The third day I've missed in November. Hopefully the last!

11/18/09

My friend Onica made these stitch markers for me. I love them and use them all the time. I think of her everytime I use them too!

11/17/09

Once again, I have missed a day. So far November has been the worst photography month for me.

11/16/09

It was late in the day and I hadn't taken a single pic. I wandered around my house until I came across the pears I bought earlier that day. They're very good!

11/15/09

My dear friend Michelle visited our church on Sunday and brought her new baby girl! It was so good to see her and meet their new baby! This isn't a very good pic, but it's the only pic I have for today.

11/14/09

My friend Yvonne moved on Saturday. We had to wait for her to get her keys when we arrived at the new place. Nathan took the desk chair out of his truck and made himself comfortable.

11/13/09

We had a late night crafting night at our church on Friday. Not many people came because it was short notice, but we still had fun. This is Leslie reading one of my knitting books.

11/12/09

We watched our friend's kids on Thursday night so they could go away for their anniversary. Eric always reads to the boys before bed so we lined all the kids up on the bed around Eric and he read to them! It was so cute!

11/11/09

Meatloaf is one of our favorite meals. I had to take a pic of it because it's just so pretty when it comes out of the oven! All draped in bacon and sizzeling!

11/10/09

There was a beautiful rainbow visible from my backyard on the 10th. I couldn't get a good pic of it, but at least I could see it.

11/9/09

I finally finished the sweater I've been knitting!!!! It even fits me! I'm so proud of this accomplishment. I had Eric take a pic of me wearing it.

11/8/09

There was a lot going on Sunday the 8th. I once again missed taking a pic all day. I think I'm getting worn out with having to take one every day. The quality of my pics has diminished quite a bit and I'm not as motivated to take them every day.

11/7/09

Jordan is the little girl of a dear friend of mine. She had her 4th birthday party on the 7th. She's such a big girl and we all had a lot of fun at her party!

11/6/09

My niece, Trinity is reading to all the kids. It was SO cute listening to her. She's getting to be a pretty good reader!

11/5/09

I've taken a pic of this tree in every season. It's just on the other side of our fence in our neighbor's yard. It's very pretty this time of year.

11/4/09

It was late and I was running out of time to take a pic for today. I was also uninspired... So I'm sorry this is such a lame pic. It's a little blown glass dragon my sister got me while she was in Asia last year.

11/3/09

Daniel and I sat in the recliner in our living room for well over an hour today and worked our way through nearly all the library books. He just kept bringing me more books to read. This is a pic of our book pile on the table!

11/2/09

My sister, Dianna and her husband, Dave sent me flowers on my birthday. They're SO pretty! Tulips and irises. I especially love the wonderful red vase they came in. I've never had flowers delivered to my door before and it was such an amazing surprise on my birthday!

11/1/09

I made some apple pies today with all my apples from Parkdale. They looked so pretty I had to take pics of them. They ended up tasting pretty good too!

10/31/09

We carved our pumpkins this morning. It was a messy job, but fun. The boys really enjoyed it this year! This is what our pumpkins look like al carved and lit.

10/30/09

To celebrate my birthday we went out to dinner then to the Sauvie Island Corn Maze. We had a lot of messy, muddy fun! This was a pic of us before we entered the maze.

10/29/09

Today is my birthday! We went to the mall to have lunch with my brother-in-law and my nieces and nephew. We went down to the fountain and tossed pennies in the water too. Ethan had to sit out for a minute and tie his shoes. He was quite frustrated! I just think this pic is cute.

10/28/09

My little Daniel! He's just so cute!

10/27/09

PUMPKIN PATCH DAY! I look forward to going to the pumpkin patch every year. My family has been going to the same farm for more than 10 years. Bauman Farms has grown exceptionally in that time too. This year it was very wet from all the rain we had this week. I love the pumpkins reflected in the mud puddle in this pic!

10/26/09

I hate mushrooms! So of course they find my backyard to be thier favorite place to live. They're nasty little things, but the only thing I took pics of today.

Clackamas Bible Church's Married Couple's Retreat 2009

10/24/09

Twin Rocks at Rockaway Beach. I love the Oregon coast!

10/23/09

Eric and I went on a couples retreat with a group from our church. My friend Donna was showing me some fabric that she thought I'd like. It's not the greatest pic, but it's my only option for the day because it was so busy!

10/22/09

We went on a leaf walk on Thursday. It was perfect weather for it and there were leaves everywhere! This pic was taken in our church parking lot, which is lined with the most beautiful trees!

10/21/09

We had dinner with the neighbors tonight. They provided the meat, which I cooked all day in the crock pot, and I made the mashed potatoes and gravy. We forgot the veggies... oops...

10/20/09

Every night Eric reads a bible story to the boys. It's one of the cutest things! They all sit around him on the bed and intently listen.

10/19/09

Taylor was laying on the floor watching a movie. He's just so cute!

10/18/09

Poor Daniel was sick on Sunday and we spent all day watching kid movies in the living room. We administered sips of water (per the nurses advice) with a medicine cup and took his temp often. Thankfully he felt better by the next day.

10/17/09

Another shot from the retreat facility we used for the LWCC Women's Retreat. So beautiful!

10/16/09

I've said it before, fall is my favorite time of year! This week the leaves started to change. We were waiting to pick someone up, and I got out of the car and snapped some of the trees around the parking lot. I love the colors!

10/15/09

I got this apple cinnamon scone mix when we were in Parkdale. I decided to make them up for breakfast one morning and I was seriously disappointed. They look pretty good, but it wasn't anywhere near worth the price I paid for these scones!

10/14/09

We ran all day on Wednesday. Daniel carried his "Mach 5" with him all day and ended up using it as a pillow in the car!

10/13/09

Today I got to meet Christopher Kimball. He's the creator of America's Test Kitchen, a cooking show on PBS. I love his show and the cookbooks are some of the best I own. I was thrilled to get to meet him and get my cookbooks autographed.

10/12/09

Since we came home from the orchard with boxes of apples, I tried my hand at making applesauce. It was wonderful, and it made the whole house smell divine!

10/11/09

Sunday was also a lazy day. As I got up off the couch in the evening, I went outside to find something to shoot. This is my neighbor's tree, and I noticed the sun shinning on it nicely. I love fall!

10/10/09

I did nothing on Saturday, and it was glorious! I did manage to snap a few photos though. This is Daniel showing me his cool safari hat.

10/9/09

My Great Auntie Mary owns an orchard up in Parkdale Oregon. Since we're doing a unit on Fall this month and apples are harvested in the fall I thought it would be a good thing to go visit Auntie Mary and see her orchard. The boys loved picking the apples and running around in the trees. This is the tree in her front yard, and she told me it's one of the original trees in the orchard!
